"JiangWang"(Chinese:蒋王）subdistrict is located in the western suburbs of Yangzhou. It covers a total area of 13.6 square kilometers, including four village resident committees, a neighborhood, a community. The total population is more than 16,000 people. In recent years, the government of Jiangwang Subdistrict has aimed to develop and accelerate the economy, which intends to make people’s living standard grow faster and faster. After two year's implementing the policy of benefiting peasants, vegetable production developed rapidly. Currently, there are 6500 mu of vegetable crop fields. With effective application of new technology, it has promoted six new varieties of vegetables, eight nursery stock flowers and two tunnel technologies. Nearly ten thousand yuan has been used to constract agriculture facilities, with which has dredged 103 river articles, completed 21.5 liters earthwork and built another 3500 meters bricks or stones lining and drained a new pump station.
Jiangwang's economy has risen greatly in recent years. The development of Jiangwang depends not only on the rapid growth of agriculture, but also on the development of industry. First, its investment promotion achieved remarkable results and it has introduced seven foreign capital projects. Second, local traditional strong enterprises have made a great contribution to the economy. BaiTai group, lake Weft knitting, Red man dress and Jia Yang clothing influence the local economy very much.
To speed up the reform of JiangWang and build a new socialist rural area, according to the well-to-do society objectives, local government decided to the mix some administrative villages, specific for: ZhiYuan village mergers with Yulin village with the combined name of Yulin village;Four LianCun mergers with LinHeCun with the combined name of Four LianCun; Yuelai village mergers with TangHu village with the combined name of Yuelai village.
There are Jiangwang Middle School and Jiangwang Primary School in Jiangwang Subdistrict. JiangWang Middle School is located in number 40 road in the JiangWang town in Yangzhou and was Founded in 1960. The school quotes the thought--"to over come difficulties, to nurture characteristics, to malposite the management of development" and has formed a feature based on culture, art, sports and the multi-level culture lets students enter into college. Since 2005, every year, more than 100 have entered into the university.
